Who We Are

Honoring Nurses with Compassion

Founded in September 2024, the Ogeechee Region Nurse Honor Guard is a volunteer organization honoring nurses’ profound contributions to their communities and profession. Open to active or retired RNs, NPs, CRNAs, CNSs, and LPNs in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing, our members provide meaningful tributes recognizing the dedication and sacrifices of nurses.

Our goals are to provide dignity and respect in recognition to our fellow colleagues (free of charge) while inspiring the next generation of nurses to leave a lasting impression on our profession.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to pay tribute to our nursing colleagues by performing the Nightingale Tribute and the Last Call of Duty at their funeral, memorial, or graveside service. This ceremony serves as a final farewell, officially releasing the nurse from their professional duties. Through this act, we honor the dedication, care, and compassion that defined their career, acknowledging their contributions to the well-being of countless lives.

Our vision is to honor nursing colleagues who dedicated their lives to caring for others, celebrating their legacy and inspiring future generations in the nursing profession.
